Born in Moravia, the son of John and Jennie (Hrosek) Rejda. Married Anna Bures on September 23, 1889 at Brainard, Nebr. by Rev. Father Matej Bor.

OBITUARY

Mr. Anton Rejda, resident of Brainard and community for more than fifty years, died early Monday morning, March 21, following an attack of heart trouble. He was in good health, the evening before, when his son, Frank, visited with him at his home. At about 3 o'clock in the morning Mr. Rejda went to the home of his neighbor, Frank Rejda, where he complained of not feeling well, and asked them to summon his sons, but a short time later, before his sons arrived he passed away.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Holy Trinity church, conducted by Msgr. Alois Klein. Music was by the Holy Trinity Choir with Sister Nepomcena at the Organ and members of the American Legion served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Brainard Catholic cemetery.

Anton Rejda was born October 12, 1864, at Vomice, Bohemia. At the age of 15 he came to America. For several years he worked on farms in this vicinity and as a cook for a railroad construction crew. Later he bought and 80 acre farm three miles east of Brainard. He was married to Miss Anna Buresh on September 24, 1889 and to this union were born ten children, three daughters and seven sons, of this family eight preceded their parents in death, Anton Jr., being killed in the World War. Mr. Rejda is survived by two sons, Frank and James, both residing in Brainard. Three brothers, Joseph Rejda of Bruno, Charles Rejda of Jay Em, Wyoming and James Rejda of Omaha, and one sister, Mrs. James Vondra of Omaha.

Folks attending the funeral from elsewhere were: Joseph Rejda of Bruno, Anton Rejda and Peter Janak and son of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prinz and son, Frank of Rising City, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buresh and family of Agnew, Mrs. Tonie Prohaska of David City, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vondra of Staplehurst and Frank Vondra and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Vondra and family of Bee, also Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dufek and Mr. and Mrs. James Braban of Bee.
