Mrs. Barbara Joyce Evans, born August 18, 1951 to Iva and Lloyd Arrington, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, L. Dale Evans who preceded her in passing. She passed peacefully at DCH hospital on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Barbara, otherwise known as "Mo" to her 5 grandchildren or "Aunt Bobbie" by many nieces and nephews was a caregiver to many. Early on in her marriage and motherhood, she she was tasked with her 2 nieces with whom she raised until adulthood.
She had a great love for all the children but her love for animals was contagious. Her many favorites and stories told is her Ceasar, Muffin and currently Beau. Mrs. Evans was a proud wife and homemaker to her husband of 48 years, their 2 children and her husbands 2 younger sisters. She served on the McNeil lady auxiliary for the volunteer fire department in which her husband founded and later became Lieutenant with the City of Bessemer Fire Department. She loved her fireman family as well.
She is survived by her 2 children, Keith Evans and wife Gretchen and Laurie Bowden and husband Andy; 5 grandchildren, Chase, Zach, Brenden Bowden, Kody (Olivia) Myers and Nikki Myers.
Her 2 nieces that she raised Barbara Self (Calvin), their children Ashley (Matthew) Wells, Courtney Passmore, Mackenzie Self. Jan (Jeff) Mize, their children Jeremy (Casey), Joshua, Jordan and Jessica. Her beloved sister and best friend Lois Perry (Dowvan) as well as a host of nieces and nephews great nieces and cousins.
