Carl Schuchardt, 83, of Gulf Shores, Alabama passed away on June 22, 2019 at Saad's Hospice House in Mobile, Alabama.

Carl is survived by his wife, Sandra (McCray) Schuchardt; sons Craig and wife Rita Schuchardt of Kennesaw, Georgia, Clay Schuchardt and his fiancé, Felicia Willett of Memphis, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Andrew 18, Charles 16 of Kennesaw, Georgia, Libby and Sydney 15 of Memphis, Tennessee and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Nieces and nephews: Christy Schuchardt-Frank, Chip, Brian and Kurt Schuchardt. Kara Barkley, Grant Keller, Jennifer Richardson, and Lafe McCray.

Carl was born to Charles and Adele Schuchardt in St. Louis, Missouri where he lived until 1969 when he moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Adele; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Dottie Schuchardt and nephew Gary Schuchardt.

Carl attended Afton High School (1954) in St. Louis and then graduated from Florida Southern College (1958) in Lakeland, Florida where he majored in Citrus Agriculture and was member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society. After graduation, he worked as a produce buyer for The Kroger Company. He then returned to St. Louis, joining the family foundry, the Carl Bajhor Company where he worked until the company relocated to Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1969. There he met Sandy and they married in 1973.

Carl and his brother Bob started B&C Diecast in 1984 where he served as Vice President until he retired in 1999. In 2003, he and Sandy moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Carl enjoyed serving the community in both Jonesboro and Gulf Shores. He served on the Boards of Directors for United Way and Union Planters Bank and was a distinguished member of the Paul Harris Fellow Jonesboro University Rotary Club. In Gulf Shores he served the community through Meals on Wheels, was the Captain of the Ushers at St. Andrew by the Sea Community Church for twelve years, and volunteered at the Day Break Alzheimer's Foundation.

A service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 1:00 at St. Andrew by the Sea Community Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama with a reception immediately following. Additionally, family will receive friends Friday, June 29, 2019 from 1-3 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas with grave side services immediately following.
