Herriet Ramona Claypool of Braham, MN; passed away August 12, 2011 at the Cambridge Medical Center at the age of 80 years.
Ramona was born on March 23, 1931 to Herbert and Hilma Martinson in Pelican Rapids, MN. She was the second of four children. She attended different schools before the family moved to Underwood, MN where she attended and graduated from Underwood High School.

She was united in marriage to Merrill R. Claypool on April 2, 1949 in Maine, MN. Ramona and Merrill had four children. They moved to a few different areas before settling in the Ham Lake, MN area where they raised their family. After Merrill’s retirement the couple bought an old house in the Maple Ridge area of Isanti Co. where it was Ramona’s dream to remodel their own home. That kept them both occupied but Ramona always found time to work and volunteer in the area. She worked as a cook at the Isanti Co. jail into her 70’s. Both Merrill and Ramona volunteered at the local food shelf. She also volunteered at Park Manor and Tusen Tack in Braham. Ramona loved bowling and introduced Merrill to this after his retirement. She also loved gardening, was a fantastic cook, did sewing, knitting, and much reading.

Ramona’s first passion was her family which included extended family as well. Everyone was joyfully welcomed at her home and no one ever left her house hungry.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Hilma Martinson, and granddaughter Bonnie Michelle Wallace.
She is survived by her husband Merrill of Braham, MN; sons Don (Laurie) of Itasca, IL, Doug (Lislie) of Blaine, MN, Richard (Linda) of Bemidji, MN ; and daughter Diane (Mike) Wallace of Braham, MN; grandchildren Brian (Tanya) Wallace of Braham, MN; Bruce (Melissa) Wallace of Ogilvie, MN; Adam (Charla) Claypool of St. Louis, MO; Shane Claypool of Bemidji, Corrin Claypool of Edina, MN; Mackenzie Claypool of Blaine, MN, Amy Claypool of Brainerd, MN; and Meg Claypool of Mankato, MN; great grandchildren Austin, Terrance, Alexzander, Onnicka, Allii, and Gracia; 1 brother Harlow (Betty) Martinson, and 2 sisters Dorothy Peterson and Olive Marolt; and many special nephews and nieces.
