Sara Elnora "Ella" Dry, 97, Stillwater, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Rosewood Care Center. Services were at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Aaron Cole will officiate. Interment will follow at Clarkson Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
She was born to Louis Providence and Lettisha Wagoner Harraman Dec. 11, 1903, southwest of Stillwater. She married Gilbert Walter Dry in Guthrie Dec. 13, 1921.
She attended Clarkson School in that Community. She worked for Stillwater Medical Center, the Ethyl Forehan Bording House and worked for several families doing domestic housework.
She lived in Stillwater since the death of her husband in January 1957.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, William and Earl Harraman; three sisters, Edna Lewis, Myrtle Spalding, Rose Lantz; one son, Walter Louis Dry; one daughter, Geraldine Fern Higgins; one grandson, Gary Wayne Silvers; and one granddaughter, Donna Kay Dry.
She is survived by one son, Chester Orval and Patty Mae Dry, Perkins; one daughter Mary Ellen and Bob Silvers, Stillwater; one daughter-in-law, Betty Dry; one son-in-law, Howard Higgins, Stillwater; and six grandchildren, Larry and Jan Dry, Dean and Faye Silvers, Don and Brenda Silvers, Sam and Debra Hatter, Carol Dry, Donna and Randy McCarlson.
She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Amy Kinzie, Deanna Dry, Colt Silvers, Bailey Silvers, Ria Silvers; and two great great grand-children, Taylor Williams, Telane Williams.
She is also survived by two brothers, Roy Harraman, Guthrie, Monroe Harraman, Oklahoma City; and two sisters, Ethel Meier, Guthrie, Dollie Webber, Stillwater.
Pallbearers were Dean Silvers, Don Silvers, Larry Dry, Debra Hatter, Carol Dry and Donna McCarlson.
Memorials may be made to Rosewood Care Center or the First Assembly of God Church in Stillwater.
