Jessie Dean Dover Bishop Davis, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at her residence.

Funeral services were held 4 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Pine Level United Methodist Church in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Dan Hughes officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery

Mrs. Davis was born August 10, 1936, in Gwinnett County, to the late C.C. & Gladys Irene Taylor Dover. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1954 and in 1973 she graduated from Abraham Baldwin College with her nursing degree. She was a registered nurse for Delco Remy, and also worked for Dorminy Medical Center and later Public Health Home Health. Mrs. Davis loved to sing and performed with her sisters, “The Dover Sisters” on the WBHB Radio Station. She enjoyed crafting and painting especially Christmas ornaments. She was an active member of Pine Level United Methodist Church where she served as choir director and was a part of the UMW.

She is survived by her children & spouses: David Clenton Bishop & Tammy of Ft. Valley, Sheila Justice & Gary of Waynesville, North Carolina, Dover Bishop & Shelia of Fitzgerald and Ronald “Theo” Bishop & Beverly of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jeremy Bond, Jamie Bond, Theo “Dosh” Bishop, Dustan Bishop, Erin & Nathan Sutton, Colby Justice, Ashley & Justin Coleman, Joseph Bishop, Chad & Heather Bishop, Jamie Lynn Day, Erica Bishop, Simoune Francis Quistol, and Aron Francis Drio; great-grandchildren: Kinsley Bond, Kirsten Bond, Kristopher Bond, Dominic Bond, Madeleine Bond, Justice Sutton, Tucker Sutton, Brodie Coleman, Autumn Coleman, Kendall Coleman, C.J. Bishop, Caylin Bishop, Cole Bishop, Cameron McBryde, and Conner Hudson; sisters: Elizabeth Harbuck of Macon, Wynell Hickey of Mystic and Mattie Lou Wilson of Irwinville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, T.N. “Dosh” Bishop; her second husband, W.A. “Cotton” Davis; and two sisters: Annie Lorene Dover and Lena Dover Sims. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
