Benjamin was the son of John Collicutt of Nova Scotia and Olive E. Noddin of New Brunswick Canada. His father was a fisherman and may also have been in Lubec at one time.

He married Jemima Johnson Jan 31, 1867 in West Isles Parish, Charlotte, NB. Her witness was Alfred Johnson and his Charles Card.

Benjamin was born in Shipardy Nova Scotia and came from Canada with his wife Jemima, daughter Laura, and mother Olive about 1876. Benjamin was a farmer of North Lubec. A variation of the name was Callicut.

Benjamin and Jemima had children:
Laura J. Collicutt born 1870 Deer Island, NB who married Edward A. Smith of Lubec 1893 in and widower Lewis E. Morgan of Campobello in 1920.

Annmarie Collicutt born in Lubec 1891 who married Fred S. Davis in 1911.

His wife died in 1899 and Benjamin died at age 77 in North Lubec in 1920 where he had lived for 43 years. He died of endocarditis and nephritis which he had suffered from for years. He was buried in North Lubec on Aug 24. His stone and that of his wife and mother have long since fallen.
