In Tawas City, Michigan Cynthia Jean "Cindy" Cook was born. She was a treasured daughter of Howard Dean and Carolyn Sue Boehme Cook. As one of seven children, growing up she shared her childhood with 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
With a strong work ethic, Cindy enjoyed working on the west shore of Lake Manitou at the iconic Dam Landing. She was the master of the multi-tasking. Offering attentive service to her customers and mastering mixology behind the bar, blending the perfect drink. Cindy delivered delicious meals with a warm smile and hearty laugh, cutting up and telling jokes brightening everyone's day. In addition she helped run the bait shop and detailed many boats to perfection. Back in the day, Cindy was proud to be known as a "Badass!"
More recently Cindy acquired a talent and appreciation of painting. She especially loved to paint by number. Bingo and crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp. Cindy is most remembered for her fierce loyalty to her friends and the great joy she achieved chatting on the telephone catching up on the latest.
Paramount in Cindy's life was her family. She looked forward to getting together and making memories during the holidays and special family celebrations. Cindy's great love and admiration for her family is reflected in her legacy.
Left to cherish Cindy's memory are her parents Howard D. and Carolyn Cook of Rochester, a daughter Crystal (Scott) Mitchell of Kewanna, 3 grandchildren: Sha Denny and companion Jeremy Presson, John (Lish) Mitchell and Kaitlyn Mitchell, a sister Chris Cook of Pierceton, 4 brothers Bob Cook, Bill Cook, Dean (Faith) Cook and David Rigney all of Rochester. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Cindy was preceded in death by her older sister Cathy Jo Cook on June 9, 2018.
