Mildred Lucille Carlton, daughter of the late Grace and Lester Medlin, was born on January 9 1929 at Bernie, Missouri and departed from this life on June 16, 2019 in Blue Springs, Missouri at the age of 90.

In 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul L. Carlton in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Carlton preceded her in death on June 21, 2011.

Mildred was a resident of Dexter most of her adult life and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter. She worked at two manufacturing plants in Dexter for a few years and mainly enjoyed being a stay at home wife and Mom.

Surviving are one son, Dennis P. Carlton and his wife Wendy of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and two grandchildren, Katey Burmester (Patrick) of Kansas City, Missouri and Christopher Carlton of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by three sisters, Melba Ward-Walker of Bernie, Missouri, Louise Dye and Bonnie Brigman, both of Kennett, Missouri. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Millie always looked forward to her everyday pleasures. She enjoyed the springtime, sipping her early morning coffee, listening to the birds singing, seeing her beautiful flowers start blooming and reliving her fond-fond memories of all the blessings she has had throughout her life and was so thankful for.

Her most joyful times were the visits she shared with son Denny, his wife Wendy and her grandchildren Katey and Christopher who were very special to her.
