Paul A. Daniel, 85, of Acushnet passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the loving husband of the late Irene (Lambert) Daniel.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Cleophas and Elvina (Desorcy) Daniel he was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Mr. Daniel served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He later worked as the District Manager for the New Bedford Standard Times. Paul loved to go out to eat.
He is survived a daughter, Susan Bailey and her husband Duaine of Ravensdale, WA; three sons, Brian P. Daniel and his companion Denise Roy of Fairhaven, Roger L. Daniel and his companion Lynne Pires of New Bedford, and Rene C. Daniel and his wife Christine of Acushnet; six grandchildren, Laura, Timothy, Robert, Scott, Marissa, and Leeanne; one great grandson, Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Romeo, Norman, and Albert Daniel.
His funeral will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 9 a.m. from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, 888 Purchase St., Suite 203, New Bedford, MA 02740.
