Jim spent his working career in the flower business with Laura Sharpe Flowers, founded by his aunt Laura and his sister Dorothy. Jim truly enjoyed the floral business, as it provided him the opportunity to exercise his creative talent. His outgoing, yet compassionate personality made him a friend to many and allowed him the priviledge of participating in the special moments in may peoples' lives. Retirement provided Jim the time to enjoy other interests. He was passionate about gardening and also spent long hours perfecting his wood carvings. He was an avid reader and prided himself on reading three newspapers a day. Jim's proudest accomplishment was his family.
