Alex S. Oliveri, 55, 34 Holiday Drive (Greenacres) Kingston, died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Carbondale. son of the late Carlo and Mary DeNaro Oliveri, he lived in Kingston the past 12 years and previously resided in Carbondale. He was a graduate of Ben Franklin High School, Carbondale, Class of 1950, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion Post 644, Swoyersville, a member of St. Marys Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. He was employed at Luzerne Products, Plainsville, and was also employed at the Crystal Lake Hotel, Carbondale. He was a physical director at the Carbondale YMCA.

Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Bednar, a Microbiology supervisor at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital; two sons, Alex, Atlanta, Ga.; Carl, Carbondale; a daughter, Natalie, Philadelphia; four brothers, Frank and Stephen, both of Crystal Lake; Joseph, Bronx, N.Y., Angelo, Carbondale; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Talerico, Bronx, N.Y.; Mrs. Jeanne Homick, Crystal Lake.
