Pamela Hoffman Crane age 91 of San Antonio entered into Eternal Rest Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born October 24, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Agnes (Notter) Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Carl J. Crane, USAF (Ret.), her parents, her sister Evelyn Christine (Hoffman) Ebert, her Brother-In-Law William J. Ebert, plus five beloved step-children (most recently, Greg Crane, Sr.). Mrs. Crane is survived by nieces Eileen Ebert-Aguilar (Rob Aguilar) & Julie Lindsay (Greg), nephew Dave Ebert, great-niece Megan Lindsay, great-nephews Zach Ebert, Shawn Ebert, & Brendan Lindsay, Daughter-In-Law Patsy Crane, as well as a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Pam graduated from Webster College (St. Louis, MO) in 1947 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, and was employed in a technical role at the Aeronautical Chart Plant in St. Louis for 15 years. She later completed her complex career at Fort Sam Houston, (San Antonio, TX) in 1979. Pam was a civilian pilot, and shared that love of flying with Carl. They spent much of their married life traveling in their own private Cessna airplane. She was a lifelong member of the Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots, and enjoyed participating in aviation-related activities.

Pam was also a member of the local Toastmistress Club, and was known for her powerful, animated, and humorous speeches and presentations. She was a voracious reader, and could usually be found with a book - or two - in her hands or in her purse. Her particular favorites were biographies, auto-biographies, mysteries, and feline-related topics. She remained a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan her entire life, and followed their progress every year.

Pam was a good and true friend to those who knew her well. She maintained numerous friendships from her grade school, high school, and college years. She attended nearly all of her school-reunion events and shared great stories and photos of each one she attended. She also enjoyed various kinds of travel, with several of her closest friends, including a number of ocean cruises. The most remarkable of those was the trip she made to Europe on the Concorde, and returned on the Queen Elizabeth II cruise ship.

In her Golden years, Pam kept herself busy with crossword puzzles, reading, watching TV (especially old movies, Food Network, & Animal Planet), and having family & friends come by to visit.
