Leo Adkinson, 79, Rt. 2, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Logansport Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for one month. He was born July 27, 1902, in Tipton County, to William and Dovie Jackson Adkinson. He was married on May 17, 1930, to Dorothy Hopkins, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, William, Galveston,
and John, Dyer; a daughter, Lois Sivert, Rockford, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Hamilton, Tipton; a brother, Ralph Adkinson, Sharpsville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, three sisters and three children preceded him in death.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Kokomo, where he was president of the Wesleyan Sunday School class. He was past master and a member of the Young America masonic lodge. He was also a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Murray Galveston Chapel, with the Rev. Walter Mayer officiating. Burial will be in the Young America Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. (Logansport Pharos Tribune June 3, 1982)
