Benton - George N. Covert, aged 84, of Benton died Tuesday. He was a retired blacksmith and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Grodon Covert; a son Harrison Covert of Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Garrett and Mrs. Mary Felton of Benton and Mrs. Lois Pelton of Texas; two stepsons, Homer Lobbs of Benton and Willis Lobbs of Missouri; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Bertie Allen of California, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Sharon Baptist Church near Benton. Burial will be at Fowler Cemetery (Saline County) by Harrison Funeral Service. [from
