John P. Flock, 79, well known and long time resident of Gladwin County, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Inman, in Beaverton Monday morning, April 25, following a long illness. The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Flock, he was born June 7, 1876 at Wyandotte, Michigan. Aside from 13 years spent in Nebraska, he has spent the rest of his life in Michigan, the past more than 50 years in Gladwin County. On May 17, 1908, he was married to the former Miss Rosetta Coolidge, who preceded him in death February 28, 1953. In 1946 because of failing health the Flocks moved to Beaverton.
His survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Gladys) Painter of Royal Oak, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Florentz of Dearborn, Mrs. Samuel (Eva) Bardwell of Sanford and Mrs. Bert (Betty) Inman of Beaverton; and one son, John H. Flock of Beaverton; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted today (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m. at the Dale Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Grubaugh officiating. Interment was made in Dale cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 04-27/1955 Column - 5 Page - 1
