Mrs. Margaret Jean Dawson Mellott, 89, formerly of Corriganville, MD, passed away June 5, 2019 peacefully in the home of her son David and grandson James.

Born September 12, 1929 in Buffalo Mills; she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Viola (Bingman) Dawson. She was also preceded in death by husband Ray C. Mellott, son, James Robert Mellott and wife Sue, son-in-laws, Raymond Logsdon and Wallace Thomas, grandson, Eric Thomas, and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brady.

Survived by a brother Curtis Dawson; five children, Shrley Thomas, Linda Logsdon, and life partner, Larry Moreland, Sharon Diehl and husband John, Edward Mellott and David Mellott; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Margaret worked as a housekeeper, special occasion cake maker, seamstress and loved to crochet. She was a avid card player and was famous for her cheeseburgers.

Friends were received at Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Inc., 169 Clarence St. Hyndman, on Monday June 10th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday June 11 at 11 a.m.

Burial was made in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD
