HAUGHTON, LA - Artie Alford Ball, 98, passed away on June 15, 2007. A native of Bellevue, LA, Artie was a resident of Haughton for over 70 years. An educator for 32 years in the Bossier Parish School System she taught at several schools including Redmon Spikes and Bellaire Elementary Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tommy and Fannie Watkins Alford; son, Thomas A. Ball and nine (9) other siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Hazel Ball Harris, Carrie Jean English, Betty Evelyn Jones and Inez Patsy Jackson; one son Grady C. Ball.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Winnfield Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2007 at Saint Paul C.M.E. Church, Haughton, LA with Pastor Samuel Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery, Bellevue, LA. The family will receive guest at the home of Mrs. Artie Ball following the burial.
