Floyd "Sam" Odell Caveny, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 10, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late James Harlin Caveny and Leila Belle Bolin Caveny and was preceded in death by brothers, James E. and Howard Caveny, and a sister, Pauline Lovelace.
Sam was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and the Sunday School Director. He is a current member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. Sam was a member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge #339, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. Sam was always active, serving as a former Hospice volunteer and helping those in need. He enjoyed working in his yard and was an accomplished wood carver. Sam enjoyed working on things and could fix anything. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Sam will be missed dearly by his friends and loved ones.
