Viewing Thursday, June 21st, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 22nd, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hester Heiser was born December 11, 1919 in Denlow, Missouri to Moses Lock Cox and Rose Etta Hodges. She passed away in Bakersfield, CA, on June 14, 2007. Hester was the last of nine children born to this union. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Earl Heiser who passed away November 24, 1998 and her siblings. Mrs. Heiser worked in the food service industry for many years and retiring from Bakersfield City Schools in 1984. As a Mother she devoted her life to caring for her special daughter Lana. Her home was always open to visitors and loved to cook Sunday dinners up until her health began to fail. She loved birds and flowers and could make anything grow and flourish. She is survived by sons, Larry, Ron and daughter, Lana, all of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Kym Plivelich, Jim Heiser, Jennifer Williams, Mark Heiser, Karen Heiser and Lara Heiser; and six great-grandchildren.
