A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she graduated from Beaumont High School in 1965. She went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin and Lamar University, where she was twice elected to serve as a class officer. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and chosen by Kappa Alpha Order to serve as a Southern Belle. She graduated with honors from Lamar University in 1970, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and a minor in music.
Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her brothers and sister; Gilbert Timbrell Adams, Jr. and his wife Marilyn, John d'Estaing Adams, and Patricia Ann Adams and her husband Tom Granger; eight nieces and nephews, Gilbert Timbrell Adams, III, Mary Margaret Adams Groves, Robert Joss Adams, Cherissa Renee Adams Lawrence, Caroline Elizabeth Adams Faubus, Michelle Elizabeth Adams Thuillier, Catherine Ann Adams, and Julianna Vi Adams LeBlanc; eight great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
