An Amarillo resident for 47 years, Virgil V Phillips, 79, of 611 N Hayes, died at 8 am today at his home.
Mr Phillips, born in Mena, Ark, was a retried railroad employe.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs Bessie Kern of 611 N Hayes, Mrs Gertrude Pyles of Lewisville, Tex, Mrs Juanita Pyles of Seattle, Wash, and Mrs Maude Carraway of Fort Worth; a son, Sonny Phillips of 1400 N Marrs; 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
