Edward A. LaVictoire, age 92, of Mora, passed away on 6/8/2019 at St. Clare Living Community in Mora, MN.
Edward A. LaVictoire (Ed or Eddie to those that knew and loved him), died peacefully on Saturday June 8, 2019 at St. Clare Living Community in Mora, MN. He was 92.
Ed was born on August 9, 1926 to Edward and Laura LaVictoire in Crosby, MN, the seventh of eight children. He was raised in Crosby, then joined the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was very proud that he delivered critical munitions and supplies to our military, circling the globe three times in those year. He held many jobs over his years, retiring three times, spending most of his working years at Mack Trucks, the company branch in Roseville, and dealerships in Duluth and Lakeville.
Family and friends were his passion. Walk down the street in Crosby or Aitkin in early years – he had to talk with everyone. If he introduced you to aides and the nursing team at St Clare, he called them friends. Ed loved being with people under any circumstance.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife and “love of his life” of 49 years, Marion LaVictoire (Hendrickson), his daughter Toni (Sweep), and his second wife and love, Gloria LaVictoire (Christiansen).
He is survived by daughters Carla (Greg ), Chris (Daniel), grandchildren Ben (Susan) and Krystoni. He is also survived by his sister Marie, brother Lawrence and many nieces and nephews
