Mary Viola Patterson Evans, 97, passed from this life on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

The fifth of eleven children­ (six girls, Alice Boyer, Roberta Perry, Mable Briggs, Clara Evans, Mary Evans, and Elva Trejo, and five boys, George, Thomas, Milton, David, and Alvin), Mary was born February 12, 1922 in Hunter to Charles Elmer and Leoni Leoti Wilding Patterson. She married Russell David Evans on December 5, 1945 and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 6, 1957. Mary and Russ shared forty-four years of cherished memories until his death in 1989.

Mary’s joy came from her family. She had two daughters, Mary Faye Evans Murray (Dennis, deceased) and Linda Evans Green (Delwin); five grandchildren, Chad Murray (deceased), Richard Green (Jill), Corinne Murray (James), Dustin Murray, and Becca Rodgers (John); and seven great-grandchildren.

Her many talents included sewing, ceramics, counted cross-stitch, genealogy, knitting, gardening, and poetry. She loved spending time with family and friends and playing games, especially Skip-bo.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 12:30–1:30 p.m.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
