Mrs. James Lucas - Bertha Fonda, wife of James Lucas, died early this morning at the Cohoes hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Cohoes, Mrs. Lucas was a member of St. John's church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nelson Gowey of Amsterdam, and three brothers, Robert, Charles and Earl Fonda, all of this city. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, 42 Garner street, and at 2:30 o’clock from St John's church. Burial will be in Waterford Rural cemetery.
