Truman Valentine, age 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 7th, 2018 at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility. Truman was born on August 20th, 1925 in Hartford, Tennessee. He attended a one-room schoolhouse from which he graduated the 8th grade.

Truman enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and fought in World War II as a gunner's mate. He later married and had three boys Dan, Steve, and Duane. He was later called back to active duty in the Navy during the Korean War. After honorable discharge, Truman worked building dams and then made a career at Common Wealth Electric as a superintendent. While working on the power line in Idaho, he met and married his eternal companion Orlene Windley-Lewis. They were married on August 16th, 1975 in Elko, Nevada. After retirement, Truman enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, bowling, and spending time with family (especially his grandkids). He was converted and baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2014 and then sealed to Orlene in the Logan, Utah, temple on May 30th, 2015. Truman spent his last few years in assisted care facilities.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son Dan, and granddaughter Brittany. He is survived by his wife Orlene, his sons Steve and Duane (Marilyn), stepson Ron (Patti) Lewis, and step-daughter Gay (Paul) Miller, eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
