Thomas Morris Venable, age 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 25, 2019. He was born October 10, 1936, to A.G. and Mable (Rhodes) Venable in Waxahachie, Texas. He was nicknamed "SONNY" by his loving Mother. He attended Waxahachie High School and in 1957 he met Betty Jane Cooke in Ennis, Texas. They were married January 23, 1958 at Reagor Springs Church of Christ. They loved life together and raised two daughters and one son.

Sonny worked for Work Clothes Rental, Tyler Refrigeration, and C&D Refrigeration for a number of years. After retirement he enjoyed working for Pawn-Tex Jewelry and Loan owned by his brother-in-law.

Sonny was a member for 61 years of the Brown Street Church of Christ, formerly College Street Church of Christ. He was also a member of Reagor Springs Church of Christ.

Sonny's hobbies consisted of fishing, hunting, playing golf and making hot sauce with his best buddy Jim Patton. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. He will be forever remembered and missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Jane, Sister, Martha and her husband Karl Pace, and sister-in-law Nell Venable. Daughter Kathy Zieschang and her husband David; Daughter Leanne Davis and her husband James; Son Kyle Venable and wife Tracy; Seven grandchildren, Tiffany Linebaugh (Randall), Alisha Gober (Kennith), Kaitlyn Zieschang, Bailey Venable, Caden Davis, Blake Venable, Michael Zieschang; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents A.G. and Mable Venable, sister Elaine (Lainey) Venable, and Brother Billy Rhodes Venable.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 30, 2019 at the Brown Street Church of Christ. Visitation will be held at Wayne-Boze Funeral Home 5:30-7.30 pm Wednesday May 29, 2019.
