BLOOMINGTON — Helen Bernice Hicks McWhorter, 93, passed away Sunday (May 26, 2019) at her home in Bloomington.
She was born March 1, 1926; married William Lee McWhorter; he passed in 1984.
Helen is survived by her son, David McWhorter; sister, Betty Ann Forrest; and brother, Roy Hicks, all from Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Lula Hicks; two sisters, Barbara and Theresa; and one brother, Coleman Jr.
Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and dear friend. She loved and enjoyed her lifetime with family and friends, and let’s not forget her son’s dog Wylie, who she loved and cared for during her days. We call her “Mema.” Loving memories of Helen will last a lifetime.
A family graveside service will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Arrangements are by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
