Henry W. Belk, 87, passed away on Friday, May 24, 20019 at his home. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 and 12-2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Barry Corbett will officiate.

He was born in Vaiden, MS, but grew up in the Kosciusko/Ethel area. Henry joined the United States Army January 21, 1949. He served in the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. He also served in Germany and at Fort Bliss Texas. He was a humble, yet funny man, that always had his friends and family laughing with his story telling. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, an avid gardener, and a coon hunter.

Survivors include his children, Judy Stringer of Covington, LA, Kerry (Debbie) Belk of Van Cleave, MS, Steve Belk of Kosciusko, Valerie (Don) Leslie of Ocean Springs, MS, Jeanine Wolf of Ocean Springs, MS, Wendell Belk of Manchester, TN, Shelley (David) Malecker of Jacksonville, FL, Amanda (Barry) Wallace of Pinehurst, NC, Jennifer Belk of Keystone Heights, FL, Brandon Belk of Kosciusko; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister, Melba Ruell of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Waulene Belk; parents, Louie Lee Belk and Ida Mae Woods Belk; and brothers, Leland McBride Belk, Charles Wendell Belk, Paul Edward Belk, Samuel Quinn Belk, and Harvey Dennon Belk.
