Bonnie Jean Black Manzano, 65, passed away September 23, 1996, in Salt Lake City, of cancer.
Born March 23, 1931, in Ely, Nevada, to Abram G. and Ruth A. Gray Black. Married Chris J. Manzano on April 12, 1948, in Elko, Nevada.Mom was married for 49 years and raised four children. Member of the LDS Church. She was a Cub Scout den mother, beautician, and most recently worked as the coordinator of the Heritage College of Beauty. She loved nature, animals, humor and simple pleasures.
Mom always placed the welfare of others above her own. The greatest joy in her life came from doing things for her family and friends, and seeing their accomplishments along the way. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend.
Survived by her husband, Chris; sons and daughter, Chris Manzano, Marc Manzano, Scott Manzano, Lisa Manzano; grandson, Marc Mazano; great-grandson, Marcus Manzano; mother, Ruth Black; sister, Marlene Zenger; brothers, Ed Black, Doug Black.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 11 a.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, where friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
