Alexander James DeMerchant, beloved son of Timothy and Valerie DeMerchant, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2019. He was born on May 26, 1989 in New Britain and was a graduate of the Plainville Educational Program. He was employed by Stanley Black & Decker and was also a caregiver to his friend, John. Alex always saw the good in everyone. He was a people person that touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his brother, Timmy; his step-dad, Ronnie Andrews; his aunts and uncle: Nady, Sally, Carla and Rick; his adored nephew, Justin; his much loved cousins especially Samantha and his dearest friends, Jose Nieves and Tanisha Pennyman.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 19 from 2-5 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. He will be laid to rest privately in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
