George Edward Tyler, age 81 of Buchanan, TN, died Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
He retired as a self-employed electrician after more than 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. George enjoyed building balsa wood model planes, watching old western movies, and FOX news. He loved fishing, duck hunting, pheasant hunting, and camping. He was a member of Russwood Baptist Church in Springville, TN.
George was born May 15, 1938, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Herald Edward Tyler and the late Betty Pauline Carroll Tyler.
He was married October 14, 1958, to his wife of 60 years, Margaret Simmons Tyler, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Debra Parrish of Cottage Grove, TN, and Dianna Causey of Grayslake, IL; two sons, Michael (Jamie) Tyler of Cottage Grove, TN, and Wesley (Shari) Tyler of Lake Villa, IL; one sister, Betty Sanders of Elk Grove Village, IL; one brother, Thomas (Jenny) Tyler of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren, Lauren Steele, Crystal Parrish, Jonathan Parrish, Marcus Parrish, Hope Parrish, Adam Hoth, Jessica Hoth, Edward Tyler, and Calian Tyler; and 10 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Friday, May 31, 2019, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. The funeral service will be Friday, May 31, 2019, at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Raymond Eaton officiating.
Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN. Pallbearers will be Michael Tyler, Wesley Tyler, Edward Tyler, Scott Parrish, Jonathan Parrish, and Marcus Parrish.
