January 17, 1949 obituary. Mrs. Ada M. Raynard, 84, widow of George H. Raynard, died Saturday in her home, 73 North Street, after a long illness. Mrs. Raynard was born March 27, 1864 at Washington daughter of the late Hermon and Jennie Achorn and received her education there. She was married in Augusta in 1886. In 1890, she came to Portland and had lived in this area ever since. She was a member of the Daughters of St. George, the Pythian Sisters and the Congress Street Methodist Church. She leaves a son Ernest E., Portland; three sisters, Mrs Minnie E Tedford, East Boston, Mass., Mrs. May B Mansiste, Gorham and Miss Grace A Achorn, Portland, and several grandchildren. The Rev Ernest Flood of the Congress Street Methodist Church will officiate at funeral services as 11 Mellen Street at 230 pm Tuesday. Services will be held in the funeral home by the Daughters of the Order of St George at 730 pm Monday and at 8pm by the Harold T Andrews Unit, AL Auxiliary. Interment will be in the family lot in Forest City Cemetery.
