Aged Lady Passes On To Her Reward

Mrs. R. J. Helms of Leesville, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of the county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. W. Johnson at Leesville, Thursday, Feb. 4, at 12:30 p.m. following an illness of about a month. She was about 86 years of age.

She leaves one son and seven daughters. She was the mother of Mrs. M. T. Haynes of this city. Her husband died about thirty years ago .

Surviving her are also a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was a resident of Gonzales county for many years, living in the Leesville section and she was greatly revered by all who knew her.

The funeral was held this afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground in Union Cemetery near her old home.
