WEDDED a FRENCH OFFICIAL.Consul-General Bruwaert had to Obtain Permission to Wed Miss King of Chicago,

Chicago, May 17,- The marriage of Miss Susan A. King, daughter of Mrs. J. McGregor Adams, to Francois Edmund Bruwaert, Consul-General of France and officer of the Legion of Honor, occurred this evening at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J, McGregor Adams, 360 Lasalle avenue. The wedding was a note worthy event from the fact M. Bruwaert is the first official of France to marry an alien since the French Government issued its decree that none of its officials should marry foreigners without first obtaining the permission of the Government. This order was issued immediately after the marriage of M. Patenotre, French Ambassador at Washington, and Miss Elverson of Philadelphia. It was necessary for Consul-General Bruwaert to obtain permission of the Government.
Mr. Bruwaert has been in the service of his Government since he was nineteen years old. In 1885 he was Consul in ,New York, and the following year was sent to Pekin. China, to negotiate a treaty of commerce. Six years ago Mr. Bruwaert Came to Chicago as Consul-General.
