She learned to play the piano and liked to sing. She met and married her first husband, Harold Siebold (older brother of a school girlfriend) in 1933. By 1936 with two children, William and Gregg, the family moved to California to the small town of Port Hueneme. When the war began in late 1941, Harold went in to the navy and Mildred (now with a third boy Fred) moved back to Wichita to spend the war years with her parents. The children were cared for by Grandma while Mildred worked in the defense industry supporting the ware effort. At the war's end the family (now with addition of a daughter, Edith Ann) returned to California and resumed a piece time life. In 1950 Mildred and Harold returned to Wichita to be closer to her parents and extended family. Two more children were added to the clan, Darryl in 1952 and Lori in 1954. Divorce followed and Mired then met and married Willard (Red) Brashier. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2012.
Mom loved to write poetry. She played piano at church and sang in the choir at church until she was about 95. She always had a hug and a smile for anyone she met. -- Lori Williamson
