CPL US Army - World War II - Obituary read: "Ora Carlton "Curley" Brier, 77, 623 E. Orange, Indianapolis, died at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 22, 1997 in his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1919, at Attica, the son of Ora A. and Nellie Mae Walton Brier. He married Patricia Anne Olmstead Jan. 24, 1941. She survives.

He graduated from Attica High School and served in the Army in World War II. He had been a resident of Indianapolis since 1950 and was a former resident of Crawfordsville and Covington. He was a meat cutter at Kroger several years and employed at Allison and Chevrolet in Indianapolis for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of UAW Local #933.

Surviving, besides his wife, are: a daughter, Diana Brier-Leigh, Orlando, Fla.; three grandsons; and a brother, Gordon (Thelma) Brier, Attica. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen and George Brier; three sisters, Mary Conley, Ellen Robinson, Lenora Gertrude Cox; a son, Ora Lloyd Brier; and a daughter, Carol Brier.

There will be no visitation or services at his request. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, is in charge of arrangements." – Fountain County Neighbor, January 28, 1997
