Nora Kathryn (Howell) Royer 84, of East Liverpool, OH died Saturday May 18, 2019 following a long fought battle with cancer.
She was born in Verda, KY on October 25, 1934, the oldest daughter of the late Emerson T. and Zora G. (Vanover) Howell.
Living most of her life in the area, Mrs. Royer was a loving wife and mother to her two sons.
Her husband, Donald Gilbert Royer, preceded her in death on September 15, 2013. They were married on April 22, 1961.
Nora was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church for 49 years, where she was the assistant to the financial secretary. She taught Sunday School for 35 years and assisted with Bible School. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and president for 2 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Donald Emerson Royer of Simpsonville, SC and William Joseph Royer and his wife Deborah Anne of Sterling, VA; a brother Herman M. Howell of Hammondsville, Ohio and three sisters, Deloris Lombardozzi of Wellsville, OH, Shirley Marshall of East Liverpool, OH and Verna Presley of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
Services will be held at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes in Calcutta on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Life Celebrant Don Bangor officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery beside her husband.
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
