Funeral services for Nancy Anne Hope, 63, of 414 Courtland St., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene with Paster Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. The casket will be closed at the church on Saturday.

Nancy Anne Burden was born Nov. 2, 1936, in St. Paul, Minn., a daughter of Walter E. and Dorothy (Giese) Burden, and

died Wednesday (March 8, 2000) at her home in Greene after a courageous battle with cancer.

She received her education at Drew Elementary School and Central High School, both in St. Paul. She lived in California for several years before moving to Utah.

On Oct. 8, 1971, she was united in marriage to Wayne W. Hope at Elko, Nev.

Nancy was a contract administrator at the Tooele Army Depot in Tooele, Utah, for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was recognized many times for her outstanding performance in her field.
She also received a certificate of appreciation for volunteer services in 1992.

They moved to Greene in 1996.

Her interests included camping, hiking, fishing, vacationing with her family and going to theatrical plays and ballets. Nancy was always a strong, courageous woman who always had a positive attitude. She always strove for self improvement and loved to face a challenge.

Nancy cherished her family and would do anything for anyone, always sacrificing her own needs for the benefit of her family. She was a member of the Greene Women's Club.

Living family members include her loving husband, Wayne W. Hope, of Greene; two daughters and their spouses, Sue and Don Atkinson of Malad,, Idaho, and Lisa and Chad Austin of Greene; a son, Mike Smeldon, of Malad, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sally and her husband, Donn Tindall, of Bristow; and one brother, Walt and his wife, Tory Burden, of San Jose, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Nancy Anne Hope Memorial Fund in care of the family.
