Although she was born with Down syndrome, Mary lived a full, rich life and outlived her life expectancy by many years. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her "partner," Maurie, and her sister, Angie. She enjoyed fishing, boating and camping, which is one reason for the July 2000 move to be nearer to family and to Saylorville Lake. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, drawing and art, and she was very helpful around the house.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Olga Ugolini and Anna Gosek, one nephew, Randy Sherman; and her "partner" Maurie Sailsbury.
She is survived by four brothers, Ugo and Johnny Ugolini of Madrid, Joe Ugolini of Perry and Marion Ugolini of Ankeny; two sisters, Angie Ugolini Sailsbury of Ankeny and Wilma Smith of Ames; nephews Greg and Steve Ugolini of Ankeny; niece Angie Ugolini of Ankeny, and several other nieces and nephews.
The family of Mary Ugolini wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness and knows that Mary was loved and will be deeply missed by many who knew her. Our little princess has gone home.
