Mr. Butler was a truck driver and was ordained as a minister in the Baptist Church. He ministered in various churches.
Mr. Butler married the former Bertie Pierce on May 6, 1959 in Waco, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Butler, his parents and three brothers and a sister.
He is survived by children, Johnny Butler Jr., Bobby Butler, Elizabeth Butler, Ricky Butler and wife, Cindy, Sandra Showalter and husband, Charles, Johnny Butler III and wife, Veronica, Brenda Pali and husband Bill and Margie Nawara and husband, Roger, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a sister, Stella Brosh and husband, Joe.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Michael Gentry officiating. Services under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, Paris, Texas.
