Hester was born to parents William George Manning and Elzabeth Ann (Unknown) in Walker County, Georgia.
Her family migrated to Moore County, Tennessee sometime between 1860 and 1870.
She was married to Anderson Richardson Mullins on 30 April 1874 also in Moore County.
Hester and Anderson had two daughters:
i. Isabel Carter (Mullins) Reeder, b. 1878 and married to L. V. Reeder
ii. Laura Elizabeth (Mullins) Ulmer, b. 1888 and married to Edward Clyde Ulmer on 19 May 1906 in Tullahoma, she died on 15 Sep 1829 in Tullahoma.
Hester, Anderson, and most of the Mullins, Reeder, Ulmer, and Sims families migrated to Texas between 1894 and 1906. Hester and Anderson returned to Tullahoma some time before 1920.
Anderson died on 7 March 1937 and Hester on 20 October 1937, both in Tullahoma.
