Mrs. Marilyn J. Hower, age 84 of Twin Lake, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. She was born on October 28, 1934 in Fremont, Michigan to Marinus J. & Jeanette (Folkema) Meeuwenberg. Marilyn had been employed by Hackley Hospital in Muskegon for 17 years until her retirement. She loved the Lord, church, and serving the Lord by helping with church youth programs. She also enjoyed camping. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James W. Hower, on April 22, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Hekkema; by her parents; and by 2 sisters, Carol Taylor & Delores White.

Marilyn is survived by 3 children: Sheryl (Michael) Korstanje, Robert (Brenda) Hekkema, Jeff (Sue) Hekkema; 6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, & 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters & brothers: Sharon (Lewis) Blohm, Harlan "Bud" (Betty) Meeuwenberg, Bonnie (John) Sietsema, Louis (Paula) Meeuwenberg, James (Terri) Meeuwenberg, Dawn (Thomas) Rushing, Colleen (Daniel) Pero.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Olivet Evangelical Free Church, Harvey Campus, with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. Interment was in Twin Lake Cemetery.
