=============================

Delia (Cordelia ) was known as Aunt Delie to everyone who knew her. To Dave Bennett , her second husband ,she was always "Ole Deal", affectionately. When she was young and living with her parents, horse thieves came to her home and took two horses. She later got a rifle, mounted her horse, tracked the thieves from Limestone to Walnut where they were captured. She took back the horses and returned home with them.

After her marriage to David Bennett , Delia filed a homestead as Delia Bennett covering 80 acres. It was in Newton County, Section #23, Township 13N and Range 22W. This adjoined the homestead filed by Alfred Bennett, brother of David, in December 1897.
