Mr. Robert “Bobby” Gene Ash age 75 of Poteete Creek Rd. Blairsville passed away on Friday May 10, 2019 in the Northside Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Ash was born on April 5, 1944 in Lafayette, GA., the son of the late Cecil Ash and the late Rachel Cook Ash. Robert and his wife Judy had managed Poteete Creek Campground for over thirteen years and before moving to Blairsville he managed a motel in Daytona Beach, FL for over seventeen years. Before retirement he was a Pipefitter. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Ash was of the Baptist faith.
A Celebration and gathering with the family will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019 from 2-6:00 pm at the Poteete Creek Campground where the family will meet with friends and celebrate Robert’s life. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Union County Humane Society Mtn. Shelter or to a favorite charity of your choice in Robert’s memory.
