Dale M. Alpaugh, 74, Pioneer, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday in his home. He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Alvordton, the son of Charles and Doris(Eckelberry)Alpaugh. In 1950, he married Pauline Kirkendall, who survives. He retired from Bryan Metals Inc. in 1993 after 30 years as a truck driver and was a member of Silver Creek Church of the Brethren. Also surviving are two sons, Dale II and James of Bryan; three daughters, Ann McMarion of Austin, TX, Mrs. Rose(Steve)Huey of Mattawan, MI, and Mrs. Naomi(Rex)Fortman, Defiance; two sisters, Vivian Hixson of Sheffield Lake and Janis Monaco, Rockford, IL; and 12 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-stepgrandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a stepfather, Hubert Howard; a sister, Wilma Lee; and a brother, Loren.
