Millie Armstrong Massey, age 81 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, December 27, 2009. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Ella B. and Edna Coursey Douglas.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Steve Goforth officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Massey is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Brother Steve Goforth of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Shane (Allison) Goforth, Stephanie (Ruben) Lopez and Katie Allison Goforth all of Murfreesboro; three great grandchildren, Hannah Elisabeth Cherry, Walter Tucker Goforth and Tripp Lee Goforth.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Armstrong and William "Bill" Massey; seven sisters; three brothers.

Mrs. Massey was a member of Fair Havens Indendent Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
