Alexander Xavier Gallegos, of Ventura, Calif., passed away due to a medical problem on June 11, 2007 at the age of 2.
Alexander entered this world in Ventura, Calif., and was born to Annette Gabaldon-Gallegos and Rick Gallegos both of Las Vegas, N.M. on June 7, 2005.
Alexander was found to have a congenital heart condition after birth. He was able to survive two difficult open heart surgeries to overcome this problem.
Alexander had just celebrated his second birthday when he became ill and passed away.
Alexander was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: David and Elisa Ortega and great-grandmother: Alicia Gabaldon.
Alexander is survived by his parents: Rick and Annette Gallegos of Ventura, Calif.; grandmother: Vera Gabaldon of Albuquerque; grandparents: Albert and Lorraine Gallegos of La Manga, N.M.; great-grandparents: Andalecio and Catherine Gallegos of El Pueblo, N.M.; aunts and uncles: Karen Martinez and husband Anthony and Irene Trujillo and husband Tony all of Albuquerque and Ryan Gabaldon and wife Andrea of Las Vegas, N.M.; cousins: Brooke and Amanda Martinez and Candace and Dallas Trujillo all of Albuquerque, MaRyan and Andy Gabaldon of Las Vegas, N.M. and Jayden and Kian McKenna both of Albuquerque; special friends: Pam Mayer and Andrea Selander, P.T. all of Ventura, Calif.; numerous: great-aunts and uncles, other relatives, special friends of Alex and many friends of the family.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday morning at 9 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santo Nino De Atocha Cemetery at La Manga, N.M. with the following serving as casket bearers: Tony Trujillo, Ryan Gabaldon, Thomas McKenna and James Ortega. Serving as honorary bearers: Anthony Martinez, Mike Klinger and Frank Perez.
