Thomas Edward Barnes, 74, of Dayton, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, in his home.
He was born in Dayton on March 7, 1930, the son of the late Bill and Edith (Hawkins) Barnes. He was a life long resident of Dayton and was involved in several different businesses. He also was employed with TVA. He was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include his son, Kenny Barnes, Dayton; two daughters, Sherry Barnes, Dayton, Brenda Standifer, Graysville; sister, Dorothy Cherrome, York, S.C.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release. Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.
