Bernice Elaine Winner, 87, of Frostburg, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Rest Assured Living Center.
Born on Dec. 31, 1931, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late James Oliver and Thelma (Dawson) Truly.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by husband, George James "Pinky" Winner, and siblings, James Truly, Betty Lou Jasper, Kenneth Truly, Delores Chapman, and June Bayles.
Elaine was a long-time member of First Congregational Church of Frostburg and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed cleaning and took pride in maintaining a "spotless home." She loved shopping and flowers. Her hobbies included bowling, reading and traveling, especially to New York with friends and family. Her special traveling and shopping companion was her good friend, Ann "Peaches" Winner.
Surviving are children, Debbie Brailer and husband, Bill, Wayne Winner, Cathy Bereths and husband, Leo, Julie Hall, and Marty Winner and fiancé, Shelly; grandchildren, Jody Ritchie and wife, Faith, Mollie Brailer and significant other, Jeremy Thomas, Josh Brailer and wife, Heather, Morgan Winner, Regan Winner, Rachel Nuzzo and husband, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Lander and Boone Brailer, Hudson Thomas; brother, Donald Truly; sister, Patricia "Patty" Jeske; lifetime friend and sister-in-law, Ann Winner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close family friends.
Gathering of friends will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Celebration of life services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, Elaine will be cremated and laid to rest beside her husband, Pinky, at Frostburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations, in Elaine's name, be directed to First Congregational Church, 103 Bowery St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
